The giants' table and cottages are situated at the edge of the magnificent tasmanian wilderness.

Welcome to the real Tasmania, where you can experience wildlife, wilderness, waterfalls, caves, an abundance of fishing and snow when in season. We will assume you are self catering unless you book a table in the restaurant prior you arrive. Forestry is calm a successful industry in the area, but they have also moved into Tourism and as well as opening the Styx Boardwalk have recently opened the Eagles Erie Lookout and the Maydena Adventure Hub. All cottages have kitchens, bathrooms and sitting rooms and we even include complimentary continental breakfast provisions for you in your kitchen. There is an originate plan Kitchen, Dining Room and Sitting Room and a important veranda. There are two (Queen) bedded rooms, and three twin rooms. The cottage has a partition sitting room as well as a kitchen dining room and has a bathroom with bath and shower above as healthy as a shower room. There is one important bedroom with a Queen bed, a kitchen dining room, a sitting room and the bathroom contains a two person spa bath with shower above. There is a kitchen, dining room, sitting room and main bathroom. Note in non peak seasons call for specials. The Giants’ Table is so named because of our proximity to the Styx Valley of the Giants’ and the Giant Trees that can be found there. We are a fully licensed restaurant, with wines, beers, spirits and soft drinks available with your meal and we can also sell alcohol to takeaway and to enjoy in your cottage. The Restaurant is unfold upon request please book prior as all food is new and cooked daily. There is the advantage of booking the whole complicated for your friends and family to stay, (we can take around 40 people at present) as healthy as the maximum wonderful food and service in our onside restaurant. We can accommodate around 40 people in the restaurant for meetings and we have a smaller seminar room which comfortably fits up to 15 people. There are a huge number of things to see and do in the area around Maydena. Depending on the amount of time you have available, we can give many suggestions for walks and adventures in the local area and we will supply a list of these activities on your arrival. There is also a huge trout river and tons of wildlife to see. Platypus abound in the Tyenna River as well as in our lake and ponds, with sightings almost guaranteed. A 10 minute drive towards Strathgordon along the Gordon River road, and you will be at the entrance to the Styx Forest, the home of the Giant Trees from which our deposit takes its name. These trees are truly awe inspiring and are a must see while you are here.Some of these trees tower as much as 32 stores and are more than 400 years old. They are the world’s tallest hardwood trees, known as swamp gums or mountain ash (Eucalyptus regnant). A majestic wild, rugged landscape that contains the tallest flowering plants in the world, alpine meadows, temperate rain forest, deep limestone caves and raging rivers. We are extremely fortunate to have several platypuses in our pond impartial a step from the restaurant and cottages.
